Meet MJ Diji: Senior Benefits Coordinator and Lovely Human Being..

Margaret-Jean Diji (MJ) joined the Timber team in May, but it’s been such a busy summer, we haven’t had the time to introduce her properly to you! In a very short time, MJ has made a big impact to our team, so we thought we would ask her a few questions so you can get to know MJ...

  1. What has been the biggest surprise about working here so far?
The biggest surprise about working here so far is realizing the amount of moving pieces it takes to set up a benefits plan for a company. There are member enrolment forms to complete, contracts to sign and a tech team that creates a personalized benefits plan just for you!Another big surprise is the amount of communication I get to have with clients. I have always found myself to be approachable and It makes me happy to know that Timber Benefits has created a safe space for our clients with any questions they may have. The communication is great because it ensures there are no surprises and I am happy that I can assist with all your questions and make the process smoother, because the truth is benefits can be intimidating
  2. It has been so much fun keeping organized and up to date on the stages of the entire process and being a part of a very large team (internally and externally) to make it happen.
  1. What are your aspirations for work?
I love to problem-solve and during my time here have learnt of how much I enjoy keeping organized, finding creative solutions and resolutions to various issues. Managing accounts and being able to proactively provide advice based on common trends and needs is something that motivates me.  I pride myself in record keeping and creating efficiencies in the workplace, while continuing to spread awareness on a variety of health and wellness initiatives.
  2. What are some of your favourite benefits that we offer?
I am proud we offer modern benefits with a better focus on mental health, awareness of telemedicine options and proactive healthcare/wellness options.  The benefits industry is not a "one size fits all" and at Timber Benefits, we can customize and create endless options.Benefits don't have to cost an arm and a leg anymore   The ability to only pay for what you need have made benefits affordable , sustainable and  a game changer for many industries.
  1. What is your favourite thing to do with your family?
My favorite activity has to be walking the trails in Banff... such a beauty!

    Visiting friends and family abroad.
